Start with the 9.1:1 high-compression Vortec heads with their straight flowing matched port design. These help the engine run both smoother and cleaner while delivering big-time power. Add the MPFI aluminum intake manifold for improved cylinder-to-cylinder airflow distribution and you achieve cleaner, more dependable combustion. Meanwhile, tuned plenum runners enhance the already massive low-end torque, while delivering awesome power to top-end, too.
Topping it all off is the new coil-near-plug ignition system (distributorless!) that zaps out 25K per cylinder via long-lasting double platinum-tip plugs for an ultra-powerful burn! Hot stuff, indeed!

High-Flow Vortec Heads In A Big-Block Engine: create smoother operation, deliver significantly more horsepower. Redesigned cylinder heads have replicated combustion chamber ports. This matched porting minimizes variation in torque from one cylinder to the next, thus producing a much smoother operating, cleaner burning, more powerful engine.
Coil Near Plug Ignition: totally distributorless, totally computer controlled, this is hot stuff. With 25K per coil, system gives 50% increase in ignition energy thus achieving top performance through consistent, highly efficient fuel burn. Cleaner fuel burn develops fewer emissions and allows for overall smoother engine running.
Advanced Valve Train: Steel camshaft with marine-specific performance profile increases low-end torque for hole-shots, while lengthening the flat torque curve for excellent top end power. (Steel cam and roller lifters allow use of fast-action cam lobes to boost power while retaining a quiet idle and reducing friction and wear.)
